The Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) is an independant scheme that certifies microgeneration products and installers in accordance with recognised standards. The Scheme is widely respected throughout the Renewable Technology industry and has the backing of most organisations concerned with climate change.

MCS Certification for Renewable Technology Products

This section of the Microgeneration Certification Scheme evaluates products and manufacturers for the suitability of use in the renewable industry.

Products are thoroughly tested for performance, reliability, durablity, and safety, by an independant testing house.

Manufaturers are assessed on traceability of materials, consistancy of manufacture, and quality control.

Under current legislation, renewable energy schemes that qualify for Grant Funding, Feed In Tarrif, or Low Carbon Loans, must use MCS accrediated products.

MCS Certification for Renewable Technology Installers

This section of the Microgeneration Certification Scheme evaluates performance of renewable technology installers.

Installers are inspected and audited on quality management, quality of workmanship, safety of systems, and system support procedures.

Every installer on the scheme is inspected annually to ensure that the standards are being upheld.

Under current legislation, renewable energy schemes that qualify for Grant Funding, Feed In Tarrif, or Low Carbon Loans, must be installed by MCS accrediated installers.
