MCS Accreditation, the Plain Facts

The Feed In Tariff (FIT) for renewable electricity generation came into force on the 1st of April this year.

The Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) will come into force on the 1st of April next year.

MCS accredited installations after 15th of July 2009 will be eligible to join the RHI scheme on the day of its launch.

Non-accredited installations are not eligible for either FIT or RHI payments.

This means that no domestic or commercial concern is going to be seeking the services of non-accredited installation companies unless they are ill-informed.

The Government target is to retrofit 7,000,000 homes with renewable technologies within the next 10 years.

Anybody wishing to take advantage of this market growth will need to be MCS accredited.

The stark choice facing non-accredited installers is to give up their livelihood or obtain accreditation.
